      Colloquio

I feel like I dodged a bullet on this one, in hindsight. Let me start off by saying what is great about the interview process, because Geico does a thing or two right in spite of my complaints here. The HR representative was kind and courteous, even if their questions were clearly read off of a list, that's just the process. This individual did a fine job, and we got to make a few fun jokes to keep things lively where possible. The female representative during the role play did a fine job as well, and I did find her to be respectful. Both the HR rep and the female role-play representative did a fine job in being timely and reaching out to me at the specified times, and also scheduling me for the next phase promptly each time. But the negatives are pretty overwhelming in regards to the professionalism of the staff, in a general sense. Firstly, the recruiter missed my phone call appointment in the first week. She was still responsive and got back to me quickly after I reached out to her, and we rescheduled it, but that is an issue to be mentioned. Secondly, the role play is putrid, as was Henderson's male interviewer. When I arrived, he rushed passed me dismissively and didn't shake my hand when we met, which is atypical etiquette, and made sarcastic remarks with some regularity. I can't tell you how unpleasant that was, and he was quite rude on the phone too. That's not part of the role-play, that's bad people skills and management, and it really set the wrong tone right away. As for the role play itself, they give you 30 minutes to memorize (by listening to an audio and reading along) how to utilize five-ish forms, learn the claims process in its entirety with no formal training, plan out your daily routes based on a poorly designed map and graph, and go through some scenarios. In the first scenario, you need to go through a basic customer claim and payment. If we were given more time to acclimate to the forms and claims knowledge, then this would be, far and away, the easiest part of the interview. The second part of the role-play has you negotiate with a hard-balling repair shop. Having frame-off restored cars in the past, I have a bit of experience with parts and expenses, but the role-play individual was apparently unwilling to hear these ideas at all, making it a glorious stonewall. This is the hardest part, so think about tactics here. The third part sees you negotiate over the phone in a less tense scenario, and you'll need to interact with customer about their repair afterwards. This part was fine. What bothers me about that role play most is that we can't ask questions once it's started, and it runs a whopping 3.5 hours without a break. That is a long time to leave an applicant hanging out to dry, as many applicants have no experience in this field and may need clarification opportunities at least once. And if you want to make it realistic, those opportunities should be there. And yes, as every other interviewee says, you have a very small desk with all of those forms, making it hilariously claustrophobic in hindsight. If you interview here, you may end up appreciating your own workplace more. I know there were things I could do better, absolutely, and to ignore this would be to diminish the value of my own post here. But I'd rather work for a company that emphasizes proper training and time to learn the materials, rather than a sink-or-swim scenario that few applicants pass. If you don't have a firm grasp of claims concepts from a previous job, just don't bother. It would certainly be nice if they stated that more on the job description.

Went through one 30 min and one 60 min phone interview and 2 assessments. Both of the phone interviews were so faceless and it was just question after question. After all that, I wake up to an email saying I wasn't moving on to the last round. Such a Micky mouse organization.

I applied for the MDP program in the Tristate area at the end of March. As I was prepping for the interview I looked on Glassdoor For tips but from my experience I believe a lot of our experiences will be different depending on where you are applying as my interview timeline seemed to be a little different from some reviews I read. So don’t depend on these reviews to be the exact same interview experience and timeline. One thing i will say is even though the process is long they move through the process fairly Quickly so as long as you are also applying for other opportunities it won’t feel like such a dragged out process. Most of the time you will get feedback the same day you complete a step. I also did not do a pre recorded hire vue video interview like some people did on here. 1) Contacted by recruiter to send transcript and availability for a preliminary phone interview. 2) spoke with recruiter about general overview on program, reviewed experiences on my resume, why geico and touched on brief leadership experiences from past jobs. Also talked about general job behaviors like how many times were you late and how many times did you call Out? I suggest answering these as if you never called out or were late because if you answer otherwise you will be called out for it. 3) first sent behavioral assessment with a virtual Customer service simulation. The next day i was sent the caliper assessment that goes into detail about your personality management style and logical questions. 4) few days later after calipher I was invited to compete a second phone interview a week later where they asked me situational STAR questions and about where else I’m applying and how does geico compare to My other options. This interview seems like they want to get to know about your management style, more in depth information about your leadership experience and how interested you actually are in this position. During this call The interviewer let me know immediately i will be moving on to the next step in the process which is a manager interview. I’m not sure if this is actually the last step or if this will be role play and then a final interview but from the wording it seems like this will be my last step. But my advice will be don’t depend on these reviews to give you the exact timeline on what to expect because it may differ depending on which location and MDP track you’re applying for. Just be honest and be yourself and don’t overthink it and you should do fine. This is my second time applying and I’m doing very well compared to the first time i applied two years ago and the first time i didn’t make it past the initial first phone interview. So if it’s meant to be and you don’t overly prepare you’ll do great! But don’t overthink it :)

Had a great interview with the interviewer, and then I was sent tests to take. I took one of the tests and felt I did well, but I was unable to take the second test due to a glitch. I attempted to contact the recruiter about this issue and she did not respond again.
