      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite segnalazione di un dipendente. La procedura ha richiesto 4 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso GEICO

      Colloquio

If you are ready to suffer through weeks of interviews and assessment testing just to be blind-sided and declined in the end, this is the place for you. I was contacted by a recruiter at GEICO who told me I would be a good fit for this program and sent me a link to apply through. Shortly after I was contacted by HR where I was told that I would have to complete assessment testing. This included a reading comprehension section, math, and logic problems. This is timed and nearly impossible to finish. If you pass, you will get an initial phone interview with HR that last about 30 minutes and will be ask the weirdest situational questions that were clearly read off a sheet of paper. Some include salary; what percent of classes do your professors say you miss and why; what fears do you have about going to a stranger’s house in a dangerous neighborhood; how would you feel driving all day in traffic to customers houses. You just tell them what they want to hear to pass this interview. Next you will need to complete another round of testing which includes a personality test, more logic, and math questions. If you pass this, you will have a second phone interview with HR. This interview was over an hour and was all situations where you needed to name a time when…… type of questions, also read off a sheet of paper. Note: you need certain business classes from college to be consider for this program or else you will need to complete them before you can start. If you pass the interviews and testing, you will be sent in person to their collision center for the role play. They stick you in a tight and crapped office in the garage which is uncomfortably hot temperature wise. The first 30 minutes you have to listen to a tape as well as read along with the papers in front of you which contains the directions of this role play. You are in loud garage and you can barely hear the tape with the directions. Next, they give you 5 minutes to prepare for the role play. After that a person comes in and hands you a paper with 5 to do items listed. These include a variety of activities such as individual assignments, phone calls, and walk ins. You need to use the provided documents to determine damages to different items and write up claims. You will need to negotiate on pricing and deal with rude customers. This is supposed to test if you can multi-task and work under pressure, however I think it’s a way for the company to force you to drive to their office, so they can laugh at you when you have no idea what you are doing. This took about 2-3 hours to complete. At the conclusion, I asked for feedback and the guy only gave me positive feedback and told me about how they will need to schedule more interviews another day because they wanted to go home. This role play was a waste of my time and I wish that I was declined before so I didn’t need to waste a whole day for this. Less then 48 hours after this role play, I was emailed saying that I was declined and can’t apply to any position in the company for the next 6 months. After this process, I realized that this company is just trying to use college students and not pay them what they are worth to make their company look better. Advice to people applying, they will tell you right away if you are moving on. If they tell you that they will need to get back you to, then you are not moving on. I don’t understand why this program is so competitive, because this is the worst, and longest interview process that I have went through. I believe that I dodged a bullet getting declined and am excited for better jobs to come.

      Domanda 1

The MDP program may require you to work weekends and nights. Are you comfortable with this?
