      Colloquio per Senior DevOps Engineer

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto più di una settimana. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso GOAT Group (Los Angeles, CA) nel mese di nov 2019

      Colloquio

Initial Phone screen: no real technically challenging questions were asked. Just talked about my current experience and why I was looking. Onsite: Interviewed with 7 people within a 2 hour time period. Was a pretty conversational interview process. I was never really asked questions to challenge my technical aptitude. No architecture whiteboarding... no brain teasers... nothing. I was also not given any time to ask questions at the end of each round since there were so many people in the room asking me question. The conversations was very one sided. I was declined due to "technical aptitude". I'm not sure how they were able to come to that conclusion since no technically challenging questions were ever asked. They had no idea what they were doing.. lots of awkward pauses waiting for someone to ask me the next question. They definitely didn't seem prepared. 2 of the people I talked to we were just having a normal conversation with me and not even talking about the job. My suggestion to the company is formalize your interview process. Maybe send a test to each candidate to gauge technical aptitude. Have them whiteboard architecture designs or something. If you're making your decisions based on "technical aptitude", then give your candidates a chance to prove themselves... Makes me wonder what kind of "talent" they've recruited on their current team. I'm feeling like I dodged a bullet on this one.. This was just a huge waste of time...
