I was contacted by the company’s recruiter from personal email. After talking to the recruiter and sending my resume, it took a week to hear back from the recruiter for setting up the phone interview with the hiring manager. The interview went well. The hiring manager showed the interests and positive attitude during the interviewing. It took a few days to hear from the recuiter again and the recruiter pass along the positive feedback from the hiring manager but mentioned that it’s going to be contract position and emphasized the risk as a contractor for a foreigner and did not mention how the company hiring foreign contractor. Sounds like an alternative rejection. But after I still showed my interest for the position and would love to move forward. The recruiter said s/he will send the email tomorrow and set up the onsite interview which did not happen. After another day’s waiting, the recruiter called back and said they found a better candidate for the contract position. Everything sounds reasonable and makes sense. But just not my best interviewing experience.
