I applied for Gaba online via a popular Japan joblisting site. I got an invitation for a "pre-interview" fairly quickly (meaning a five minute interview on the phone). Called there, and discussed some details of my application. All in all it went smoothly - they ask you about your visa status, where you would like to be placed, how often you would be able to work and so on. A few days after I got an email telling me that my application was unsuccessful, though no reason was given. Personally I feel like it might be because I am not a native speaker (though native level fluent), and because I am already in Japan with other part-time teaching jobs and was just looking to sign up with GABA for a little additional income. I would have liked for them to provide a little more feedback as to why I wasn't invited for a real or Skype interview even though I have TEFL certification and teaching experience.
