The hiring process for this role was one of the most misleading and poorly coordinated interview experiences I’ve encountered.
Recruiter Nayana Jodigatte Chinnappa described the opportunity as a W2 contract-to-hire position. During the actual interview, VP Rahul Gupte stated that the role was contract-only with no possibility of full-time conversion.
That directly contradicted the original job posting, which explicitly advertised the position as full-time despite apparently being open since February 2023. The posting also made no mention of GenAI being a significant requirement, even though it became a major focus during the interview itself.
When I attempted to clarify these contradictions and even offered to share the exact job description I had received, I was redirected back to recruiting instead of receiving a direct explanation. Rather than acknowledging the obvious inconsistencies, Rahul Gupte responded by saying other candidates “seemed to understand just fine,” which came across as dismissive and unnecessarily condescending given the conflicting information communicated by their own team.
The broader process reflected the same lack of professionalism:
* Interview was rescheduled day-of
* Emails requesting clarification about the “technical interview” went unanswered beforehand
* Recruiting and interview panel communicated materially different versions of the role
* Expectations discussed in interviews did not align with the posted position
What stood out most was the complete unwillingness to take accountability for any of it. At no point did anyone acknowledge that the role had been inconsistently represented across multiple stages of the process. Instead, the implication was that the candidate was somehow at fault for noticing the discrepancies.
Considering this role has apparently remained open since February 2023, the reasons why are not difficult to understand.
It was especially ironic seeing “clear communication” emphasized in the job description when the hiring process itself was defined by contradictory messaging, evasiveness, and a striking lack of internal alignment.
Future candidates would be wise to independently verify every aspect of the role before investing their time, because the information presented upfront may bear little resemblance to what is actually discussed during interviews.

Pretty straightforward. The questions were what you would expect on a typical AI/ML interview. Highly geared towards customer data and risk manageement and a few non-technical culture fit questions. overall good experience
