This was the longest interview process I've ever had in my career. Each pause between communication from the recruiter was so long that each time I had forgotten that I had applied for the position. There was some serious turnover and dysfunction at the leadership level at that group and they had to farm out the recruiting and interview process to a third party company.
So at one point, I had decided to maintain communication with the recruiter because I was actually more curious as to where this 7+ month interviewing process was leading to - than the job itself! (And I was actually about to accept another offer but I really wanted to see where this was headed toward)
There was a take home assignment as a starting point for the evaluation. They give you a week to finish it, but I was able to finish it in 2-3 days on and off between downtime and evenings. It was actually kind of interesting.
