Phone screening after two months of application submission. Within a week i had an interview with the hiring manager, then another week later on-site interview and google hangout interview with another functional manager. While interviewing with everyone was able to find out couple things, the corporate probably realize with the competition of biosimilars, the procurement needs to be "upgraded", however, i also noticed that certain functions are very resistant to changes and prefer status quo. Therefore, i can foresee a lot of political land-mines needed to be tread carefully in this role especially your own procurement KPI in conflict with another technical group KPI.
When I query further during my interviews, I do not see the organization as a whole believe and adopt supply chain best practice. As an SME in this area, I can see that they adopt some "cool" methods, but the organisation as a whole has yet to incorporate them into their organizational culture. However, I still commend the effort from corporate procurement trying to change the status quo despite significant resistance from other teams.
During my final interview, I realize they had an internal candidate, thus i believe it is a big factor that i did not receive the offer letter.
