~1hr web call with no video in my case. Had a great conversation about C / C++ and the projects I would be working on in the position. Interviewer was knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions. Sounded like they had a really solid mentor program in place for the position.
I ended up withdrawing after discussing the move to Poway with my family, and I decided it just wasn't worth moving across the country for. I really wish there was room for remote, because I would have been excited to continue talking with this company.
After withdrawing i received no response, which was the only negative part of the experience. I think replying to at least confirm they received my message would have been nice, but in this case I understand. I should have done this before even interviewing, but when I read the job description initially I was excited about it. It sounded like a really cool position. In the end the location and cost of living is what pushed me to withdraw. I don't really care to be in cali, and I can't justify the cost of living and distance from my family.
