      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto un giorno. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso GoDaddy (Nottingham, Inghilterra) nel mese di giu 2019

      Colloquio

GoDaddy have been holding group sessions at a city centre hotel for a couple of months. You will be sat in the lobby for 15 minutes left to your own devices as a crack team of 6 higher ups from GoDaddy sit in a conference room doing absolutely nothing, not bothering to come out to tell you what's going on or introduce themselves. When they finally bring you in, one member will show you through the door and the other 5 won't even stand up to greet you a simple hello as you take your seat. A generic middle management type with all the charisma of a doorknob will spend 10 minutes telling you how great GoDaddy is (his eyes are telling you he's lying the entire time) and that they only want the best of the best. He will then tell you with a straight face that GoDaddy plan on being as big as Google. You will try not to fall out of your chair. You will then watch a video of the CEO trying to make the office look like a cool environment when all he wants is for you to make him more money. You are split into 2 groups where 2/3 of your contemporaries will try to be the loudest person in the room despite not even knowing what products GoDaddy sells. They won't even know what website hosting means quite literally. You will be tasked with making a presentation for an app that could be made by GoDaddy to compliment the products it already has. You might have noticed this has literally nothing to do with the job. Your proficiency at selling products you know about, one to one over the phone to existing customers is being gauged by your ability to make a presentation in a group about something you've invented. Next up you will be given a sheet of paper with phones and their specs on one side and cameras and their specs on the other. You will sit back to back with another hopeful and be told one is the customer, one is GoDaddy - sell them a phone or a camera. Again, the eagle eyed among you might have spotted that this is a woeful exercise to perform as GoDaddy sells neither cameras nor phones and neither person is going to act like a normal customer. The whole process is very strange and you will all ask what the hell just happened as you file out to wait for one on one interviews. The one on one interviews are about 5 questions that have little relevance to anything. You will be asked if you have any questions and your mind will go completely blank as you wonder why this company just wasted 4 hours of your life with such a shoddy hiring experience. You will get PTSD from visiting job boards for weeks afterwards as GoDaddy set up more and more of these assessment days trying to find the 'best of the best'. If you're reading this before going to one, honestly don't bother!

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

Very generic 'why do you want to work here' type questions

Thanks for taking the time to write a candid review of your experience interviewing with GoDaddy. Please know that every activity at your interview had intention behind it, our task and questions are all pulled together in an effort to understand how you might perform in different situations at work. We're sorry that you had a less than great experience and have talked through your feedback with the Nottingham team. Best of luck.
