The interview process is long and arduous and you will generally meet with a dozen or more interviewers, mostly in-person, though there may be some phone interviews with individuals who are located in remote offices. I interviewed for a VP Software Engineering role at Goldman Sachs few months back and the experience was disappointing. The recruiter’s communication during scheduling and follow-ups felt rude and unprofessional, which was surprising for a firm of this reputation. The technical rounds focused heavily on data-structures and graph coding problems despite the senior leadership nature of the role. While I explained my approach, I couldn’t fully complete the implementation within the time limit. Most concerning was the lack of any feedback or follow-up after the interviews. I didn't even know what happened. Overall, this was one of the least professional interview experiences I have encountered.
