45 minute phone screen with a recruiter about 6 - 8 weeks after applying online. Very pleasant conversation, seems like a great organisation. Declined as she felt I was too senior for the role - perhaps she was letting me down gently!

Recruiter screen was about 15 minutes. The recruiter gave an overview of the role and company, then asked about compensation expectations, location, and whether I would be open to relocation. The hiring manager round focused more on technical depth, product/program judgment, stakeholder management, and how I work with engineering teams. Overall, it felt conversational but still fairly detailed.
