Started with an application on linkedin. Got a call with the recruiter, sounded like an interesting role with room to grow but he asked what I was looking to make and the figure I told him was way too high. This was a red flag since I told him it wasn't even more than my salary right now, I had 4 years industry experience, lived in Boston, willing to commute to work which is rare in the software engineers job search. But based on all that he said they could only offer me significantly lower than my current salary so I told him I didn't want to do any interviews. He called a few more times pitching to me the fact that the salary wouldn't change but that Granite was a great place to work. I kindly refused and that was it. I would say that their compensation plan is very low for tech so anyone interviewing be aware of that.
