My overall experience with Grantify’s interview process was disappointing. The process included: • Initial screening chat • Discussion with the Head of Product • UX task • Presentation to the Head of Product and Head of Marketing From the beginning, it was clear that the company’s UX maturity was relatively low, which may have contributed to unclear expectations. The discussions often felt one-sided and buzzword-heavy, with a lot of talk about being a “pioneer in design,” but not much depth or clarity. The design task was a concern. I was asked to complete a UX audit of the platform within 24 hours and deliver a branded presentation. The brief was vague, and supporting material was minimal, which made the scope difficult to define. While I presented part of my analysis, there was clear disappointment that I didn’t deliver a full audit, which led me to question whether the task was more of an unpaid work request. Additionally, I found the communication during and after the process lacking. I was transparent about my interview status, and the delayed follow-up (more than a week later) felt inconsiderate. In the end, while I didn’t move forward, I feel this process highlighted potential misalignments in expectations and values. I’d advise other UX professionals to approach with caution and ensure the scope of any task is clearly defined and reasonable.
