Communication was fine and prompt until the final round, following which there was a period of radio silence. I had to follow up to get an answer. The team was professional and had a good interaction BUT if your hiring for software engineering roles I don’t see how you can judge candidates without technical coding rounds that involve coding exercises/ whiteboarding solutions. Or go the route of a take home exam. It is simply impossible to know what candidates can offer for a sw engineer role without doing this. So I felt the interviewers were somewhat winging it, threw a bunch of questions out there by reading my resume as we were speaking and my full potential was not understand by them. This is not a sales or manager position so simply ‘talking’ doesn’t really cut it for a final on-site interview IMO.

review moved quickly, first a call with the recruiter, then with manager, then a quick live coding exercise, and then a take home assignment followed by an api design test.
