The interview process was straightforward and took a couple weeks (initial Zoom interview, followed by an in-person interview/lab tour). While the hiring process itself was fine, the real issues start once you’re hired.
As a lab tech, you’ll be expected to handle 150–200 samples daily, with workloads exceeding 200 samples on Fridays, all while earning only $20/hr. The pay does not reflect the workload or the nature of the materials being handled.
Attempts to negotiate higher pay are dismissed—management may simply stop responding and move on to the next recent graduate willing to accept the role. Recent grads are worth more than $20/hr. I wasn't going to accept this role unless a higher pay could be negotiated, but they weren't willing to budge/respond to my request. Employees here will be overworked, undervalued, and underpaid. In my opinion, this position is not worth it.
