Katie, the recruiting coordinator, initiated the conversations and coordinated all of the interview sessions. She was an absolute joy to work with and made the entire process very easy for me. The process started with a phone interview conducted by Wesley Clinton. It was a brief, 5-10 minute conversation discussing my interest in the company and how my qualifications relate to the position. I was then invited onsite for a series of interviews over a 4 hour period. When you first approach the four hour block it can seem intimidating and I think in other companies it probably would have been, but they really do a great job at making it a stress-free process. I met with seven people during the process. I was stationed in a room for the day and the interviewers came in and out one at a time, except for the first conversation which was with two people. I actually enjoyed this process much more than the usual group interviews at other companies where you are pelted with nonstop questions all at once, making it tough to build a rapport with the interviewers. I left Greenhouse feeling like I had a good understanding of each individual person involved in the interview process. I started out with Alex and Jamie who focused on culture-fit questions. Then we progressed to Ali who focused more on the position and how I felt I could be an asset to Greenhouse. Sam was up third and our conversation was a little bit of both, some talk about the position and other discussions on my previous work experience. Next, Jab and I spoke over a coffee break a block away from the offices. The break did a good job at loosening things up a bit. This part was much more of a conversation than an interview, but still very enjoyable. Following the break, Brendan entered the room. During this session we got back on track and focused on the position and sales in general. We also reviewed an exercise that I did prior to the interview. He taught me a few useful tips that could be an asset to me in the future as well, and we created another sales email. Katie ended the run of interviews in a conversation about mostly culture and my job search. The four hours went incredibly quick. You may approach the situation with skepticism, but after you complete the process you will wish every interview you ever complete is done in this fashion. It was great to get such a wide array of personalities in such a short time. I enjoyed the staff very much. Everyone I spoke with seemed to have an interest in what I had to say and was excited about me being there. I loved the process and am grateful for being able to have completed the interviews.
