      Colloquio per IT Operations Manager

      Juneau, AK
      Offerta accettata

      Colloquio facile

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 3 mesi. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Greens Creek Mining (Juneau, AK) nel mese di gen 2024

      Colloquio

The initial process was very easy; a follow-up e-mail application led us to schedule an hour-long Zoom Meeting. Basic getting-to-know-you questions and an overview of the job involved. Some key individuals weren't present, but It was indicated that during a follow-up e-mail, I'd be notified if I was selected to proceed with a 2nd interview. It took them no time to reach back out for a 2nd Interview. However, they told me that it would take two weeks until we'd be able to have this interview. I was flown down to their office in Juneau and put up in Corporate Housing. Within the first 2 hours of my being in Juneau, I was informed that the VP of IT and IT Manager would accompany me on this 2nd Interview. I was told that the delay was partly because they had to come onsite to smooth things over with the site's VP and fire an incompetent employee. I had a fantastic day onsite at the mine. However, it was very apparent that their IT Operations were a complete mess. the next day, I met with the Site Controller. We discussed the site's needs, and I inquired about ways to expedite the onboarding process if chosen. Everyone seemed excited and was letting me know that I would hear something back. I was offered the position, but they weren't offering enough for the amount of work and on-call schedule. I countered their offer, and instead of letting me know that this would have to be reviewed by Corporate, the HR person I was working with set an expectation for a response and blew past it (this had happened several times during the process). I e-mailed the site Controller, who explained that it would take some time. Shortly afterward, the HR Person told me Corporate Shot down my counter and said they could add some additional money to the relocation (which was super low), and the offer was a take it or leave it kind of deal. I accepted the position and asked how long it would take to get reimbursed for the trip to Juneau; I was informed it would take a week or several and to be patient. It took 30 days, which I found unacceptable. The post-interview process was disjointed and unorganized. The HR person mentioned several times that they typically like to onboard folks in person in Juneau, but after waiting such a long time for reimbursement, why would I waste more of my money and time? I elected to do the employment screenings in my hometown. After voicing my concerns about the reimbursement process, they decided to rescind their offer. I honestly dodged a bullet. I'll be reaching out to their Corporate HR folks, because I feel like this decision wasn't made with all of the facts.
