I was scheduled for an initial video interview with the recruiter. I waited and waited, but no one showed up at the appointed time. Not a good sign. So I emailed them and was told they were having technical difficulties. Okay that happens, but the next interview slot they could get me scheduled for was over two weeks later. Remember, this was their error. Also not a good sign. Anyway, someone did actually show up for this meeting, and I was recommended to the hiring manager. That interview went well, and I was asked to do a skills assessment. For some designers these are a red flags, but I don’t mind them. This one was a pretty lengthy assignment with rather vague instructions, but I completed it by the deadline and returned it to them and then… nothing. Ghosted. Okay, obviously I didn’t deliver what they were looking for, but they could at least have had the common courtesy to tell me that. Send me a form letter. Anything. Completely unprofessional.
