There were also some math-based questions, such as calculating profit margins. For example: ‘A shirt costs X, we have 10,000 units in inventory. What’s our profit if we raise the price to Y?’ Another part involved trend analysis: ‘These clothing items are trending in Region A, but not in Region B. What conclusions can you draw, and how would you act on them?’ Finally, I was shown a regional performance report with mixed results, some stores were doing well, others not. The question was: ‘What stands out to you? Where would you focus your attention?
