I applied online and was scheduled for an interview 1-2 weeks later. From the start of the interview, it was pretty clear that since I did not have a very specific one-track background that included working on site in a hospital I was probably not going to get the job. The initial online application questions asked "have you worked in a hospital" however I assumed that since this was a marketing job, that maybe that question was actually for a nurse or doctor and it was mistakenly included in the marketing application. I did not assume that the only qualified candidates for this role would have to have worked in a hospital office. I answered the question with my healthcare marketing experience. The hiring manager was nice and informative. I was given a very thorough explanation of the role, the company and the goals. After not hearing back for 2-3 months, I assumed I did not get the role and applied for a different role that was available on the same level. A different HR person reached out to me, scheduled an interview for two days later, then ghosted me at the time they chose for the call. I contacted them in case there was a misunderstanding and let them know I would be available for a reschedule. I never heard back. The salaries are well below average so this coupled with the narrow criteria that the hiring managers will accept and the poor communication plus hesitancy to hire an exceptional candidate, decreased my interest in working for this company anyway. The jobs have been open for several months when there are hundreds of applicants per week for such jobs on LinkedIn.
