Colloquio
I am sharing this experience with the intention of highlighting gaps in the hiring process, not to defame or target any individual.
I applied for a Process Associate role and attended interviews conducted by HCL Technologies.
Over a period of approximately one and a half weeks, I was asked to visit interview locations multiple times and was given different instructions regarding the next steps.
Timeline of events:
On the first interview day, I was informed to visit another HCL location on Saturday for further discussion.
When I visited as instructed, the concerned interviewer was unavailable.
I was then asked to return again on Monday, where I was told to come back the next day.
On the following visit, I was informed that the second round would be conducted virtually on Friday.
After this communication, there was no follow-up message or confirmation regarding the virtual interview.
No HR contact details were shared in the job listing or during the process, making it difficult to seek clarification.
As a fresher, repeated travel without clear communication resulted in financial cost, time loss, and mental stress.
I fully understand that hiring processes can change due to internal reasons, but even a simple update or rejection message would help candidates plan better and move forward respectfully.
I am sharing this feedback only to highlight the importance of transparent communication during recruitment, especially for young graduates who invest time, money, and hope into these opportunities.
I hope organizations continue to improve candidate experience by ensuring clearer updates and coordination in their hiring processes.
The interviewer asks you to briefly introduce yourself, including your name, educational background, and any relevant experience.
Job Information Discussion – You politely request details about the role, responsibilities, and work environment to ensure clarity before proceeding.
Degree Verification – You ask whether the position requires a specific degree, and confirm if it’s a technical or non-technical qualification.
Decision Step – If the interviewer confirms it is a technical degree requirement, you communicate that you will not proceed, explaining your preference or policy.
It was pretty easy with no deep questions being asked. Just prepare the basic questions for your domain for technical round and basic HR questions for HR round and you should be good to go
