One week after online application I got the telephone interview invitation. Passed and set up the in personal penal interview(next week). The telephone interview is value based, the core value of HSBC as open, connected and dependable. Recruiter asked questions around these core value of HSBC. Also Qs like why HSBC, why you, why RBWM, strength and the normal behavior questions will be asked. Nice HR, good talk.
After the initial application you are invited to take two tests depending on the position. Afterwards if successful you get a competency based phone interview and then an assessment. The assessment consists of various interviews as well as a report and a group exercise

Online application, mostly form filling and CV sending. Make sure your CV is checked by someone who knows what their doing.
Maths and problem solving online exam. Google them and get experience. Don't do the HSBC one until you're confident.

Assessment centre had no prior knowledge requirements and was simply a set of team building and one on one assignments.

Firstly, Online form from the website then Online Test- verbal and numerical then Phone Interview- behavioral interview and competency based questions. it lasted around 60 minutes, the interviewer was very nice. The last stage was the Assessment Center: Role Play, Report (time constraint), Group Exercise, One-to-one interview and at the end self evaluation.

No technical question, just behavioral interview and competency based questions. No unexpected questions. Very fast assessment center from 9am to 3pm. mangers and recruiters were very nice.
