      Colloquio

This dates back a year or two ago, so I'm hoping has changed. I was a graduate interviewing for an entry level role. A positive being that they were really quick and would move through the process very quickly so can't fault them there. But there were about 6 or 7 conversations with separate people before the final interview which was in person. Process could have definitely been condensed as was asked the same questions each time. When I went into the office, you could tell culture was off with the lack of diversity and with the interviewers asking questions about my biggest nights out at uni. I was rejected at final with no explanation why, to which I asked several times for feedback and was ignored. Think this is really important for grads trying to secure their first role as it can help them in future interviews. To top it off, about a month after rejection, I got a phone call from the internal recruiter I was dealing with, thinking I was someone else (another candidate they have in the process) and after explaining who I was and after joking if he was calling with feedback he just hung up the phone! Gave an impression of cowboy recruiters

When applying for the job, I spoke to the internal recruitment a few times over the phone before being invited into their office. She seemed extremely nervous and couldn’t really answer the questions I had, and then said they can be answered in the interview. You receive an email document of questions on what to expect in your interview, but don’t be fooled, it’s actually a group interview and not a 1-to-1 interview as implied. I turned up early, and ended up being in a group of 12 people and that is when I caught on it was an assessment centre type interview. We met the internal recruitment, and they “reassured” us not to worry and that there is unlimited job offers so if they want to hire all 12 of us, they will. However, an applicant sat next to me said “that’s not true, my friend works here, they only pick four of us” and of course, only four got picked to go through to the next stage. While we were waiting for the interview to start, we all exchanged our experience applying and four of the applicants said that they knew people that worked in the office. They were the four people that were picked. Before the group interview, we did a tour of the office, where the employees pointed and laughed. It was very bizarre. Then in the interview room, a boardroom, all applicants were sat round a table while the heads of each team came in, stood around us and watched. It was very “informal” let’s say, one of them even put their hand down their trousers to rearrange something. There was a lot of smirking and sniggering at some of the applicants answers, one applicant was very nervous. The four applicants were chosen, and the 8 of use were left in the room. The very nervous internal recruitment girl said “you can all go home now”, someone said “could we have any feedback” and she nervously mumbled “it’s just a culture fit, you’re not a culture fit, I will email you all feedback” of course, no email. If you are thinking about applying, check out their social media and the “meet the team” page on their site and see if you’d “fit in” then go ahead! They are looking for a certain type of person, I even found one of their job notices online, and they were looking specifically for “sports and exercise graduates” to fit into their “culture”, this is a company that does recruitment for tech companies. So read in between the lines of course. Though I am lucky I live in London, and it only cost me £5 to get to the interview, there were multiple applicants that spent £100+ on train travel from around the country that felt a bit miffed after the only four applicants that were chosen, were ones that had been recommended by current employees. But of course, they have an employee referral program where you get money if you successfully refer someone.

      Domanda 1

You are put into groups or pairs, and you are asked to “sell” the person/people you are grouped up with.
