I applied online - got an email 2 or 3 weeks later saying they were interested and asking me to take their online assessment. I took it the same day I got the email - it had 9 sections, took me about 1-1.5 hours. I got an email the next day inviting me to interview by phone with an HR person. Interview was scheduled for a week later. Interview lasted 35 mins - HR person was friendly, easy to talk to, started with explaining the company and the role so it was comfortable so the pressure was taken off at the very start of the call. After about 10-15 minutes asked me to talk about myself and asked basic questions about my work experience, etc., and told me I was moving on to the assignment phase at the end of the call. I got the assignment, took longer than expected to complete (approx. 10 hours) - it wasn't hard, just time consuming. I heard back 9 days later - did not get invited for a final round/in-person interview - don't think my writing style was a good fit for the type of white papers they are looking to produce. Overall good experience, HR person was responsive and professional. The whole process is demanding, but if you're familiar with the industry you're applying for and can perform the tasks required, it shouldn't be difficult - you just have to be ready to invest some time without being guaranteed a job.
