      Colloquio per HR Recruiter/Generalist

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 3 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Hartz Mountain (Secaucus, NJ) nel mese di ott 2024

      Colloquio

On October 30, 2024, I interviewed with Hartz for a role at their Secaucus location. My first two virtual interviews with the team, based in another state, were excellent. The team members were professional, engaging, and left me feeling optimistic about the opportunity. However, the in-person final interview with the decision-maker was an entirely different experience disappointing and unprofessional. I entered the final interview excited, given how well the earlier rounds had gone. Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that the session wasn’t focused on evaluating me as a strong candidate but felt invasive and dismissive instead. The manager questioned the legitimacy of my previous roles, implying that my contributions were unnecessary due to the size of the companies and the contract nature of the positions. This line of questioning was both unwarranted and unprofessional. To make matters worse, the manager spent 15 minutes of the interview openly criticizing my former employers. The remarks were disrespectful and created a hostile atmosphere. Once this inappropriate tangent ended, the interview resumed with repetitive questions I had already answered thoroughly in previous rounds. The tone felt more like an interrogation than a professional discussion, which further solidified my concerns. Adding to my disappointment, I was informed during this final round that the role would focus almost entirely on recruiting, with minimal generalist responsibilities. This directly contradicted the job posting, which had described a balanced role between recruiting and generalist duties. To learn such a critical detail at the final stage felt misleading and dishonest. The role should have been advertised solely as a recruiting position, and it’s unclear why the company chose to misrepresent the job’s true focus. As the interview progressed, it became increasingly clear that the session wasn’t geared towards hiring me but seemed more intent on being invasive. Recognizing this, I decided to end the interview. I truly hope the organization reflects on its practices and does better moving forward treating individuals with the professionalism and respect they deserve.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your interview experience. We appreciate feedback, as it helps us continue to improve our processes. We always aim to have a thorough discussion during interviews, especially regarding the accomplishments and experiences a candidate highlights on their resume. During your interview, we asked for additional details to better understand your background, but unfortunately, the conversation ended before we could explore this further. We regret that you felt disrespected during the process and walked away with a different interpretation of our conversation. We value all feedback and are committed to ensuring a positive, respectful experience for all candidates. At Hartz, we value transparency and strive to offer candidates the opportunity to learn about our team and culture. We’re always looking for ways to enhance the interview process and ensure that all applicants feel comfortable and informed throughout. Thanks again for sharing your feedback. We wish you the best of luck in your career journey.
