I was contacted by an HSPH faculty member who was interested in creating a position in the field of international public health tobacco control. We discussed the position in detail and created an opportunity that would allow me the flexibility to also pursue a mid-career program at the Harvard Kennedy School, which I completed in May 2012.

The first interview was scheduled about six weeks after the submission of my application, and it was with the director of operation. The second interview was with the hiring manager.
