      THIS IS THE MOST DETAILED REVIEW THAT YOU WILL READ! It's long but if you're really pressed for time skip to the last 3 paragraphs I encourage anyone who comes in contact with this company to do their research before going to their NYC office for an interview. Any company that does not respect your time does not deserve your time. I applied for a position here in July 2017 through ziprecruiter (which has given me a lot of fake job leads) and I was contacted within 15 minutes of submitting my application. I received an email saying that my application was in the top 10% of the applications that they received and was invited to come in the next day for an interview. Logically, this email response didn't make sense because there's no way in a matter of 15 minutes that they would know my application's percentile rank in comparison to their other applicants, however, I decided to give them a shot. I selected a time slot and went in for the interview the next morning. When I got to the office, I almost made an about face because there were so many people packed into their small office space. They share the space with several other companies and the waiting room was filled with other people waiting for an interview. When I was called for my interview I was called at least 20 mins later than my appointment time and the interview only lasted 10 mins! So I spent more time waited than I did being interviewed. That evening I received a call saying that I moved on to the second round and was invited to come in again the next day for a 2 hour period where I would be doing the same tasks that would be a part of the job. Once again I was not seen on time, 15 or 20 mins later than scheduled. I signed a waiver saying that I would not be compensated for the work that I did at Haywire, then I was taken into a small back room about the size of a really small bedroom and got to see how the company works. There were at least five other people in there with me all sitting at desks and making calls. I brought my laptop with me, as instructed, and they logged into their accounts on it for me. I could see the list of all the people that applied and was told that I would be calling people to get them to come in for an interview and I would have to use my own phone to do it! I had to download an app that would disguise my phone number, this is how they contact you. Plus the reception in their office sucks and there's so much noise in the background, you can barely hear the caller. They give you a script, like telemarketers do, to pitch to callers. This script is also broken down into a table so you can record how far you got into the script with each caller. Also I was supposed to record which callers I got to come in for an interview. The goal was to hit 25 per day consistently. After my 2 hours were up I was debriefed and went over my hand recorded statistics. My results were deemed to be acceptable. I was told how the commission structure works. As a recruiter, for every person that you get to come in for an initial interview you get a commission, and for every person that your supervisor gets to come in for a second interview that they get a commission, which means that they will keep calling and emailing you until they can get you in for an interview because they make money when you show up. If you don't wish to be contacted by them block their number and email address. If you do not make it past the second round their constant communication ceases and they will no longer respond to your emails, because everyone has already received their commission and they no longer need you. Look at the reviews that are up here and you will see that the negative reviews are detailed while the positive views are short and vague. Also note that for the "Account executive" reviews that 4 positive reviews were submitted on the same day. What are the odds that 4 people that were hired for the same role would add 5 star reviews all in the same day. That's too coincidental. It looks like Haywire is having people plant positive reviews to keep their rating above 4 stars on Glassdoor. Lastly, look at the LinkedIn profiles of their employees. Many of them claim to be in management and they only have months of experience in their field. It takes years to become a manager not months! Proceed with Haywire at your own risk.

      Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We can only apologize that you seem to have not enjoyed your interview experience. We'll try to respond to as many of your issues as we can, although admittedly, some of them are difficult to understand. For those, we'd love you to get in touch directly and tell us more. We're always looking for opportunities to improve. Our waiting area can be fairly busy, dependent on the time of day. We share a reception with a few other businesses, which is common practice for many modern businesses. We do apologize if at the time of your interview it was a little chaotic. Our office building is home to many young, vibrant companies and the atmosphere can be reflective of that. We see it as a positive, and we hope to connect with people who feel that way too. Our initial interview can seem fairly short, we admit, but we are clear about the nature of the interview in any communication we make before the fact. The interview is a short meet and greet, to get to know the candidate, see if we are on the same page, and also give them the chance to ask questions and get to know us, before moving on to a more serious and formal interview process. We assume that any candidates who attend the interview are aware of this, as we are very careful to let them know. In the same way, we explain the second interview carefully at the first, in a way that we hope will make sure that any candidate attending it will know in advance what will be expected of them, and we encourage asking questions again. The interview is a fairly short practical assessment of the candidate's abilities, which is fairly commonplace when recruiting for a job that is based on hitting recruitment targets, and ultimately being a great communicator. Unfortunately, as much as we would like it to be the case, we are not in control of how our reviews are presented or processed on Glassdoor. However, we do know that Glassdoor has very strict policies about submitting and processing reviews, that preclude any gaming of the system, either from reviewers or companies. All reviews go through a moderation process before they appear on the site, which confirms at the very least that they represent the opinions of real and unique employees. We can't speak for what our employees claim to be or do not claim to be on LinkedIn. We're not in the business of controlling every aspect of their lives, but we can say that many people who work with us have achieved management roles in short periods of time and excel in those roles, and we support and stand behind those success stories, as much as we hope to work hard to try and turn every story at Haywire into a similar success story.
