      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Hearing Health(NY) (Williamsville, NY) nel mese di feb 2021

      Colloquio

This was the most bizarre interview I have ever experienced. The woman interviewing me apparently is retiring, and she is going to be training someone to take her place. She brought me to a private room and immediately removed her mask. I think she was put off by me keeping mine on, and spent 5 minutes talking about how she is "too healthy" to worry about COVID. She swore a ton during the interview, but honestly, this was the least awkward part for me. Upon reflection, I realize she spent most of the interview talking about herself, and how the hearing specialist was basically her son so he was spoiled by her and that made him lazy. I did not know how to respond to her basically mocking the man I would be working for, so I didn't really say anything. She went back and forth saying she was his mother and "was like his mother" through out the entire interview, so I'm not sure if she is related to him or not, but either way, she spent a significant amount of time letting me know he needs a lot of hand holding, but with much more colorful language. She told me she likes gambling, which again, I didn't know how to respond, but she didn't seem to care because she kept talking about her life, hobbies, and beliefs. When she finally talked about the position, she stated it was $13/hr with a few ways to make commission, although she very openly stated that you make very little on commissions. The Indeed ad stated the pay was $29,556.00 - $43,832.00 per year, which was a large range to begin with, but this pay does not even equate to the low end. When I mentioned this, she ignored my question and went on about how this was the easiest job in the world and $13/hr was an amazing wage for how simple the position is. She made fun of the elderly patients she has to interact with, and alluded to their location (they are in a Walmart) being the reason she has to deal with "trashy" people. Then, out of nowhere and without prompt, she stated that she and 99% of the patients were anti-Biden and big Trump supporters. Once again, I did not know what to say. I don't care who she or anyone else voted for, and I certainly did not ask her about anything related to politics. When I finally told her that I didn't care about people's politics and that it doesn't have any affect on my job, she seemed unimpressed, but continued to talk about her personal beliefs. Eventually, I met with the Hearing Specialist, albeit briefly, and while he was far more professional, he seemed almost uncomfortable having to speak with me. I much preferred his awkward indifference than the previous 30 min interviewing with the current office assistant. I honestly think I spoke more words with him in 3 minutes than with her the entire interview. At any rate, they haven't called me with an offer, and I am absolutely fine with this decision.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

I honestly can't think of any questions she asked me. She might not have asked me anything at all. She just talked at me and occasionally picked up her cell phone to look at it.
