The whole process from application to final decision took about two months. I heard back immediately about my resume and because the deputy editor was busy, I completed my edit test before the first interview (which is not typical and they were really gracious about apologizing for the weirdness of this). After about a week, I set up my first interview. Then, a week later, I set up the second interview. A few hours after the second interview, I was asked to submit references. I then didn't hear back for about 4 weeks, when I was told that it came down to me and one other person. The HR rep was amazing—she stayed in communication with me the entire way through the process and was so easy to communicate with. I so appreciated not being ghosted and given actual reasons why I wasn't hired. I was very pleased with the process even though I wasn't offered the role!
