I applied online and was delighted to be quickly contacted and had a very pleasant phone screen with the HR recruiter person. About a week later I was scheduled for a video interview with some marketing guy (who seemed only familiar with in-store, sampling type marketing, which fully demonstrates his limitations). He was brief, distracted, gave me a mere 15 minutes (including my questions, which he cut me off short from, anyway) and seemed quite distracted. Since I'm a bit older, I strongly suspect ageism was in play. To be fair, it proved to be a very different job from what I initially thought and while I think it could be effective, it will also be VERY expensive, run up against a lot of red tape (for example, I know that they want to use a sampling venue that would be completely closed to them) and might also be considerably less effective than they're hoping. I also had quite a few ideas that would've expanded their brand....and had I felt better treated, would consider using their product, but I think I'll just stay with regular shopping or give my $$$ to their competitors. I could also see their business model eventually petering out, since it's largely the new Groupon and already they have to discount to get new subscribers. Oh also, at no time was salary even remotely hinted or mentioned, which is generally a red flag, as well (every other interview that had interest in me, did touch on at least a range)
