      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 2 mesi. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso HelloFresh (New York, NY) nel mese di ott 2018

      Colloquio

I first had a call with the recruiter where we discussed my background and experience which went well. Next I had a phone interview with the hiring manager and then I progressed to an Excel-based exercised. There was about two weeks between each stage so at various points, I thought I had been ghosted. I just had my in-person today and it left a bad taste in my mouth. I knew within minutes of being greeted I didn't want to work here. I think the main issue is that they don't create a good candidate experience. The talent coordinator I worked with was awful, verging on incompetent . Let me back up. First, she told me the wrong time for my phone interview with the hiring manager. I even asked her to confirm the time to make sure I was on the appropriate person's calendar because she got the names mixed up in the email and she confirmed. On the phone interview day I received an email from her saying I missed my phone interview and I had to remind her that she told me the wrong time. No apology. Today, when I arrived at their office, there's no receptionist so you just go up to the 7th floor and I was instructed to text a different coordinator. I texted her and received no response.A few minutes had passed and I was starting to get nervous. Finally a young lady walks in, says "are you [my name]?" and immediately starts the tour without even introducing herself. I actually had to ask who she was. The coordinator I texted should've responded to the text and explained that someone else would be up to greet me. Throughout the tour the coordinator kept yawning like she was bored and it was really off-putting. The last thing that annoyed me about the coordinator was the itinerary she sent me only had me scheduled to meet with two people, but I was really supposed to meet with 3 people. The SVP walks in as I'm collecting my things and it was really awkward. We were already running late and I had to get back to work. I felt like a jerk because it seemed like this was on his calendarI had no idea I was supposed to meet with him. I was then escorted to the elevator bank and the coordinator put the onus on me to follow-up to schedule a time to speak with the SVP. The interviews went okay. The first guy was awkward and made me feel uncomfortable because he seemed like he didn't want to shake my hand (I'm black and feel offended when white people do) and immediately said he wanted to sit as far away from me as possible. Strange. The hiring manager was awesome and she was the only bright spot. Other observations: the office was really dark and crowded and there was very little diversity. The job and the hiring manager sounded really cool so I'm really bummed the company sucks. I withdrew from the process.
