The manager trainee position was deceptive, at the very least. The hiring manager stated the process consisted of working as a customer service rep for $1O/hr, indefinately until a new location opened up. Upon that time, I would be one of many in a pool of candidates to continue on with manager training. The problem I had with this was having been in the travel indusry for more than 12 years, I knew how often those locations actually opened, which was very little. After probing the manager with questions such as, "How many customer service reps are working at each location with the intention of going into management?", "What is the actual growth rate for this city and surrounding areas?"....It became clear that the possibility of becoming an actual manager of a location was slim to none and basically they were getting away with hiring people at $10 to run the entire show. Hence, cheap labor. Unless you want to work for $10 indefinately I'd consider another path of employment. The upside of this environment would be a great opportunity for kids out of high school or college needing CSR and basic management skills experience.
