There is a new hotel opening in my town. I walked in to fill out an application and sat in the dining area to fill it out. While I was completing the application I noticed a girl that was being interviewed for the front desk position. I waited until the interview was over and the girl left and I walked over to the general manager and asked if they were still taking applications. He said that they were and that he appreciated that I took initiate and interviewed me on the spot! The questions were straightforward and simple. Mostly just talked a little about myself and my background and told them when I was available for work. At the end of the interview they said if my references checked out then I would be getting a call the first week of October. I had the interview 2nd-3rd week of September. I didn't get a call until mid October but that was due to the opening of the hotel being pushed back. The first call that I received in mid October was about the delay and I was informed that someone else would call me within the next 2 weeks about the job. I finally got a call from the man that interviewed me a few days ago and he offered me the position for front desk! I go in for orientation on November 4th and I couldn't be more excited! I have wanted a job like this for a long time and I'm so thankful.
