Unfortunately it was far too easy. I had a preliminary phone screen with an internal recruiter. There was quite a bit of disorganization in scheduling the face to face interview.
The face to face was different to say the least. It was the only interview that I have ever had where I was not asked once about my background or if I could do the job. They described what they wanted and needed -- it sounded great on paper. It finished with, "Does that interest you?" I responded that it did and went home.
Considering they never asked how my background applied to the position or questioned my prior experience, I did not expect an offer. To my surprise they called the next morning and made an offer. In retrospect, the process should have been a red flag.
