      Colloquio

I applied for a job posting with the title: QA/QC Manager. In the initial interview I made very clear what roles and responsibilities I was looking for. I was also very clear about my salary expectations. Holder requested a 2nd interview and informed me this would be a 2.5 hour long process, minimum. They asked me when I would be available so I informed them afternoons work best for me. They proceeded with scheduling the interview for 8:30 am! When I arrived I was told I would be meeting with 6 people who would interview me. The first was the Addison location office manager. The 2nd person who interviewed me was an HR representative. The HR representative asked if I was okay with the title of Sr. Quality Engineer. I told her I was not concerned with a title, as long as roles and responsibilities are in line with what i applied for and the salary expectations I gave them in the first interview would be met. She repeated back to me my salary expectations, which I confirmed, and assured me this would not be a problem. So I continued through the interview process. The interview went great. I met with the director of operations, the director of QC, and 2QC managers. All the interviews were like a conversation. We shared ideas and experiences and overall seemed to go well. 2 of the interviewers said on the spot that they would recommend me for hire. 3 days later I got a call from Holder with what they said was good news. They had an offer for me. However, the offer was 66% of my expressed base salary expectation!? When I expressed my displeasure with that I was informed that they were offering me the top salary for that title! As a business owner I had to jump through a ton of hoops to make the time they wanted to interview work. I made my salary expectations very clear up front. Instead of respecting that and being honest about the role and salary range they were looking to hire, they pulled a bait and switch. Clearly they saw me as a good fit, however they did not extend any level of respect for me as a person or my time.
