I applied through employee referral ("head-hunted" by professor), but still needed to fill in application form (paper work). Didn't really have interview, but talked to head of department in his office together with the professor. No HR interview.

The Head already assumed I had already started working there and was assigning me tasks (wakakakakakaka) and didn't really ask questions of me.

They first ask me to have a personal introduction and then describe the current project situation. Lastly, they ask me to have projects showcase. I have demonstrated what I have done in the past few years.

Interview over Skype, easiest interview ever! Not a single technical question. Though I think it's how they treat foreigners, probably much harder for Chinese people themselves.
