Colloquio per Escape Room Game Master

      18 mar 2024
      Dipendente anonimo
      Offerta accettata
      Esperienza negativa
      Colloquio difficile

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 2 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Hour To Midnight nel mese di feb 2024

      Colloquio

A long, exhausting waste of time. First interview was a full hour long, wherein I sat at a desk across from the 3 managers. The friendliest of them did nearly all of the talking, while the other two just watched on with no emotion. Went through my resume, cover letter, and asked questions. A few days later, I got invited to return for "the second part of the interview process." They said I could bring a small group to play one of their rooms for free, which we did, and that was all. My best guess here is that they wanted to see how I interact with teammates and work in a group, what my natural interpersonal connections are like, that sort of thing. Playing the room for free was the only positive part of this whole experience. After finishing the game, they pulled me aside and offered me the position, which I accepted. This is where the problems started: -Began onboarding, but they suddenly decided to withdraw the offer 4 days later. Hadn't even had my first day yet. -They claim it was because my availavility wasn't enough, but during the interview I was very clear that I had a second job and college classes to manage. Additionally, I outright asked if there were any availability requirements but they avoided the question, just saying I would need to block out my unavailable days. -A couple days after offering me the position, they decided they needed to clarify my availability despite this not being an issue during the interview process. I told them I needed to change my other job's schedule before I could give exact days of the week, but gave them the number of days each week I'd be available. They told me to change my OTHER JOB'S SCHEDULE FIRST, before they would tell me if I met their requirements. -They immediately withdrew the offer once I shared my schedule, and told me they were not willing to find a compromise. I suspect there were some communication issues between the 3 managers, or perhaps conflicting opinions about me as a candidate. -I am left with a messed up schedule at my other job, 2 weeks of time wasted, and feeling robbed of what otherwise could have been a great opportunity. -The last thing I'd say is that the pay is not on par with how formal and intense the interview process is, and how "professional" they try present themselves. Especially if they're gonna turn around and yank the rug out from under you, like they did to me.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

Two groups (who don't know each other) are joining to play one room at the same time, but one of the groups is late. How do you handle the group who is late and speaking with you on the phone, and how do you manage the group who is on-time, waiting with you in the lobby?
