Colloquio per Education Partner Program Manager

      15 apr 2019
      Candidato anonimo a colloquio
      Boston, MA
      Nessuna offerta
      Esperienza negativa
      Colloquio difficile

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto una settimana. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso HubSpot (Boston, MA) nel mese di feb 2019

      Colloquio

The video interview was incredibly impersonal. It flashes the question at you, gives you 1 minute to think about it and then you need to answer it in under 1 minute. There is nobody on the other end besides yourself looking back at you as it records you. You can't re-record. The weirdness of it all caught me off guard and was hard to finish strong because I just felt so awkward. It asked me 4 questions, each one giving me a minute to process and a minute to answer. So the whole thing only lasted 8-10 minutes. After I received a generic email saying I didn't move on to the next round, it really made me question Hubspot's practices. The role is one that would be working with people and would be heavy in human interaction. Yet, the first interview is a robotic video rushing you to answer heavy questions? I was interested in HubSpot for a while, but after that experience it really left a sour taste in my mouth. I'm all for efficient processes, but when it's at the expense of a genuine human interaction it's not worth it.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

What is one benefit you would add to the Education Partner Program and why? (needed to be answered under 1 minute.)

Hi there, I'm sorry for the delayed follow up on this one. The video interview is uncomfortable for a lot of people and we've tried to help candidates prepare and manage expectations through informational content on our blog and intro videos. While we (and many companies) make use of the video interview to get to candidates at scale and give everyone a chance to communicate their interests and experiences relative to the requirements of the role, I appreciate your push that we not completely sacrifice the human element in our process. Thanks for the candid feedback and for your push for us to get better here, I appreciate it. Best, Becky
