Vantaggi

If you're looking to chill on the job that's the place

Svantaggi

The company lost a lot of its culture: no more week of rest no more unlimited paid time off, no more work from anywhere for 90 days. BUT they have added some really cool benefits like micromanagement, close performance review from HR for the next layoffs, so really nice. Mid management at least in pre-sales has little ideas of where to drive the org (probably because it will be made redundant), with poor vision for the future. The career advancement is very blurry and poorly tied to performance metrics. They are tied to projects that are not tied to business value but to leadership visibility. This translates in working on many projects with no real business impact that take away time from business

HubSpot is not the company it once was — disappointing cultural shift

Vantaggi

Flexibility: HubSpot still offers good flexibility regarding work hours and hybrid work, which is appreciated. Colleagues: The people — at least in certain teams — remain a key strength. Many colleagues are supportive, talented, and collaborative, fostering a sense of community despite recent changes.

Svantaggi

Cultural shift: HubSpot's once-renowned company culture has taken a disappointing turn. The top management’s push for ambiguous concepts like "high-performance culture" and "remarkability" seems more like a way to justify unpopular decisions rather than genuinely uplift employees. Loss of benefits: Many of the benefits that once made HubSpot a competitive and attractive workplace — such as the "week of rest," "unlimited paid time off," and the "sabbatical stipend" — have been removed, even though salaries were never the most competitive in the market. Gaslighting culture: There’s a growing sense that employees who express concerns about these changes are subtly gaslit into believing they’re simply not "hungry enough" or "customer-first" if they don’t embrace the new direction. This approach has fostered a more self-serving environment, a stark contrast to the company’s former mission of "building a product for the customer and one for the employee," as outlined in our original Culture Code.
