Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Human Rights Watch
Colloquio
Two days after sending resume and writing sample I was asked to do a written asignment which consisted in drafting talking points, a mission planning memo and an op-ed. After I sent that in I heard nothing for a month. Am now scheduled for a first phone interview.

Colloquio
1. The interview questions were pre-loaded in a platform, so you interact with a screen and you have about 1 or 2 minutes depending on the questions. The problem is that some questions are actually 3 questions in 1 and the time is just not enough.
2. I knew in advance that the person who was leaving this position had some issues with her visa so she had to leave the post, not because she wanted to but because things got complicated or something. Therefore, I was baffled when one of the questions on the interview was about my immigration status. If having a work visa already was important for them, they should have screen that out in the application process, not wait until you shortlist candidates. It is a waste of everyone's' time. You are letting someone go because of her (American) visa but then you do not pay attention to that aspect in the hiring process? My conclusion is that they don't ask in advance because is bad optics for them, which is BS.
3. What is even worst is that I never heard from them again, I understand when they don't reply to all the applicants, but I was already shortlisted and I invested time preparing. A simple thank you for your time would have been nice.
