Colloquio
Very easy, scheduled an interview with the center director and spoke about my teaching experience and current full time teaching job. Was offered the job at the end of the interview. The center director was personable and friendly.

Had a quick in-person interview discussing my experience tutoring teenagers and why I am interested in this job. We also reviewed the training timeline and confirmed my availability moving forward.
Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Huntington Learning Centers (Yorktown Heights, NY) nel mese di feb 2024
Colloquio
Interviewed at the Yorktown Heights location recently. It's a three part process, a phone screening, an 80-minute in person assessment (which of course is unpaid), and a final interview.
Everything was mostly fine, except for the final interview. They kept me waiting for 30 minutes, and the executive director stepped out three times in the middle of the interview to make a phone call. They also gave no opportunity to ask questions.
I withdrew my application online after that. The executive director reached out to ask why, and she became very defensive and made excuses when offered feedback. Still no explanation or apology for starting 30 minutes after the scheduled time.
The interview questions themselves were pretty easy, they mainly just asked about my experience working with kids/students. They asked how I would handle certain situations like a student who is not engaging with the material.
It seems like they will hire almost anyone, as long as you hold a bachelor's degree and can pass the assessment. Pay starts at $16/hour which is close to minimum wage in Westchester County. They only hire part-time, so of course no benefits.
