      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 2 mesi. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Huron Consulting Group (Chicago, IL) nel mese di apr 2022

      Colloquio

My favorite set of interviews from when I was applying for a job. It was three interviews: phone, technical, and on zoom. Technical was my least favorite because it was an half hour of number crunching.

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 5 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Huron Consulting Group (Chicago, IL) nel mese di mar 2022

      Colloquio

Very smooth. Submitted resume, screening call a week later. Week and a half break before a case interview with a senior member. Standard case interview but they are looking for creative and wholistic answers that can cover the problem, the people, the actions, and other considerations. 1 hour case (40 minutes and 5 minute defense before 10 minutes for questions). Final round was two 45-minute interviews back to back with members of the sector (Higher Ed or Healthcare). Great people who want to get to know you, your values, your experiences, and how you lead your life. Heard back within 5 days and gladly accepted the offer. Excellent process.

      Colloquio

HR contacted me about the position in late December. First contact was mainly phone screening where recruiter asks you if you are okay with travelling and your salary expectation. After that, you do first round behavioral interview. Second round is a case interview and after that they invite you at their HQ in Chicago for an onsite interview. First round is mainly behavioral interview where you need to be very concise in answering questions. Second round is a watered-down version of a big 3 consulting case interview where not heavy quant is involved but you still need to have an understanding about the business (in my case it was HigherEd). My overall experience was very nice in terms of people being polite and pleasant. However, regarding the final round, I was disappointed as two of the interviewers were barely looking at my face the whole time and mainly typing my answers on a computer. I wasn't asked any technical question or any test, it was mainly behavioral and not like the first round behavioral questions. I guess they wanted to see if they want to be around you. I had very little to time ask questions at the very end which felt we were rushing to finish the interview. At my first interview on the final round, the lady [director] was asking very broad questions in terms of which role I would prefer to work where there wasn't really any listed role or task available for a Consulting Analyst. After 45 minutes, I was taken to another room for the interview with an individual, manager at Huron. She didn't have a copy of my resume, which I gave mine (already brought 5 copies just in case). She started talking about her role at Huron and started throwing buzz words like API, which later I asked what it stood for and she couldn't answer (I later googled it after the interview and found out that it stands for Application Programming Interface). It was surprising for me as she didn't know this [if a candidate was to throw this buzzword during an interview and interviewer asked what it meant and he/she can’t answer it, I bet most people will reject you]. Anyways, similar to the first interviewer, she typed my answers at a computer. Questions were very generic such as, are you okay with travelling; what would you like to do here; how would you like to receive feedback, etc. I've been through many interviews and had a consulting internship experience at BCG as well as other industry firm work and I always received a clear feedback on what did go well and what didn't. I was very interested in the role and did detailed research about the job responsibilities but overall very surprised about the decision of not receiving an offer. I thought my both interviews went pretty well, however, about five days later, I received a call that they weren’t extending an offer and happy to share feedback and scheduling a time for it. I guess they just didn't like me a person overall. I checked other reviews in this platform prior my interviews and several individuals have experienced similar outcomes. Good luck!

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

1)If you had your own company, what values would you have? 2)Why Huron? Why Consulting? Why HigherEd? 3)How would you like to receive feedback at your job? 4)Tell me about one skill that’s important for you to improve in your future career? 5)Are you okay with travelling? 6)How is your Excel and technical skills if you were to rate it from 1 to 10? 7)Case Interview (Higher Ed): Client is thinking of keeping the old system vs. upgrading it. They hired Huron to decide if they should take the upgrade or stay with the current system. [Here you do a bit calculation and you’re allowed to use calculator. Make sure you keep track of the units/time periods and you should be fine] Also, there are lot of follow-up questions you need to answer so make you do understand the role not just in high level but also in detail such as, data gathering, conducting surveys, analyses, enterprise software implementation, tracking, reporting, debugging, etc.
