I applied through the company website and was contacted later that same evening by HR. The following day I returned the call for a 15 minute phone interview which was very easy and pleasant. Towards the end of our conversation, the HR manager said he'd like to pass my resume onto upper management and promptly received an email which included standard verification questions.
Two days later I received a call from the Front Office Manager who invited me for an in person interview. I told her I could meet later that afternoon. I arrived 15 minutes prior to when the interview was scheduled and was greeted by two front desk agents. After waiting <5 minutes in the hotel lobby, the FOM came out and introduced herself and walked me to a private meeting room.
The actual interview didn't feel like an interview at all! While she did ask me some work related questions, she was more interested in my personality and if I'd be someone who would fit in with the team/company culture. It was very relaxed, pleasant, and could tell she was more concerned with making an authentic connection, which I appreciated.
After speaking with her for about a half hour or so, she invited me to interview with a GM who would be in the office earlier the next week. I, of course, agreed and expected to be contacted in a few days. Four days after my interview with the FOM, HR called and ended up extending me an offer. I accepted and reported to work for my first day within a week.

They asked how I would respond to certain scenarios. What I would do in other scenarios. Overall nothing too hard and why I wanted to work there. They want to make sure you’ll stay calm in all scenarios
I started applying to work for the Hyatt back in 2020 with only two years of experience for a front desk position. Fast forward to now 2024, with nearly 6 years of front desk experience and still can't even land a basic entry level position. Submitted an application, and was automatically denied the very next day, no interview whatsoever.
Apparently six years of experience isn't enough. You need a Bachelor's degree to work the front desk and check people in. Either that or the person at HR is pulling names out of hats.

Submitted an application for the front desk. Got rejected 12 hours later with no contact. Even with 6 years of experience.
