Hear me out. Ikea stated that this is not an interview. But more "get to know you" session. It goes like this, they ask you to present in front of other "visitors" who are also interested in the job which last for two hours. What products you like and dislike about Ikea. They will let me know the outcome few weeks later through email. But hang on....I thought it's not an interview and they stressed the point that it is not an interview. Few weeks later, they did not notify whether you get the job or not, the HR hiring process is hideous. They don't know how to reply emails. The main purpose for "get to know you" session is to get all the designed from us as the designers and it might inspired them to create new awesome products based on your design. Benefits for them?1. they got hundreds of designs for free 2. They don't need to reply you since this is not an interview 3. They don't need to give you a feedback since it is not an interview. So think twice before you go for it, why you would want to work for a company like this? Ikea is a franchise so it might be just that specific branch at Tempe.
