      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto una settimana. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso IPSY (San Mateo, CA) nel mese di apr 2017

      Colloquio

More of a pre-screen via phone. It was easy to talk to the interviewer. Questions were average, but this was my first interview in 5 years so I was very much rusty. I knew I probably didn't want to work at Ipsy when I asked if the position was salaried. This information was not detailed in the job description and I thought it was a valid question given an applicant should know the manner in which a position pays. Everybody's financial status and/or job flexibility is different and sometimes it varies on being paid salaried or hourly. The interviewer told me she was not sure, but then asked if there was an underlying question for why I asked. I was caught very much off guard and a little put off, not so much about the question but in the manner in which it was asked. That was the moment I knew this was not going to be a good fit. In the end, a few days later I found out logistically it would not have worked out. The biggest take away for me: As much as an interview or pre-screen is conducted for potential employers to preview candidates, the same process is used for the candidate to preview the employer. I'm not going to rate this a bad or even neutral experience, I think overall it was good. It just wasn't a good fit either way and that isn't anybody's fault. Thanks for the opportunity!
