I applied through Illumina's career portal. Got called back 2 weeks later and had phone interviews with HR and the hiring manager. Subsequent interviews were held on site with HR, hiring manager and supervisor. The onsite interviews were about 30 minutes per person and conducted separately. HR did an excellent job of explaining the future goals of the company and how each department functioned towards achieving this goal.

Question regarding Illumina cloud apps. It was difficult because I did not know too much about them given it's novelty.
Virtual interview, I didn't get to talk to a real person, had to record all of my answers with a time limit, it was a horrible process and there was very little human communication
The first step was an audio-only hirevue that allowed two attempts. After passing that, there were two video call interviews with team members for a total of around 90 minutes give or take.

Weird video interview where they asked me "How would you explain to a 6-year-old why the sky is orange at sunset." The other question I don't remember but was equally strange for a 2-question video interview. It felt very impersonal.
