      Applied online on 2/10, recruiter reach out a few days after to initiate the interview process including a digital interview via HireVue, there were a total of 8 rounds of interviews! On 4/18 I received a notification that I was not selected. The whole process took over 2 months, extremely long process for nothing🥲

      I recently had an interview with Illumina. I have always wanted to work for this company. This job description was a perfect match to my skills and experience. It started with a virtual video interview called HireVue where you get 3 tries to submit a response to 8 questions. To my surprise I moved on to the next round which was a phone interview. Then I was moved to the virtual panel interview with 4 people including the department manager. I spent hours preparing for these interviews. When it came time for my panel interview, the panel people were fumbling around with the video set up at the time my interview started. Not only did my interview start a few minutes late but they also decided to leave as soon as the last person of the panel came on the video so the last few minutes of my interview were cut. I never had the chance to ask them a few more questions. The last person of the panel didn't have a copy of my resume and was probably notified last minute that she had to interview me. She asked me the weirdest questions I have ever been asked in an interview. I sent two follow-up emails within 2-3 weeks for them to finally let me know that I was rejected for another candidate. This was a very casual response email to me with spelling and grammar errors. Overall, I expected better from them.

      It is a 3 stage interview. First with talent acquisition, then hiring manager and then other managers and maybe a future team member. If you have experience in similar jobs, you will be fine.
