Technical telephonic Interview was primarily focused on questions related to introduction of machine learning. Since I applied from an external location, they made me solve a teaser task related to credit data analysis. Advice to HR: Please don't interview expats & waste their time if you can't afford to pay within a comfortable zone. If your aim is to compete with outsourcing companies; then better hire 1000 of sw engineers, bid for projects. But if the company aims at building its strength in big data analysis, you need few PHD in every small areas of interest. Advice to applicants: 1. Do a good literature review of application of statistics ,viz . : econometrics, business analytics, credit data solution; if you haven't worked in those areas. Don't be a (work) hero , wasting your time ; programming the task in c/c++. 2. Use a predefined machine learning framework in python, r, weka(java) ,saas, mahout, matlab. Advice to interviewers: 1. Test the candidates on data structures, algorithms. 2. Hire PHD professionals if you want to make a difference. It's decent place to work for experienced software professionals living in India. They pay you 2.5 times your no of years of experience ;)

The first round of the interview primarily focused on my current project and Python coding questions. The discussion went very well and even extended from the scheduled one hour to one and a half hours. Despite that, I received a rejection email, which was quite unexpected.
