      Colloquio per Hadoop Engineer

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un selezionatore. La procedura ha richiesto 3 giorni. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Indeed (Austin, TX) nel mese di feb 2017

      Colloquio

I interviewed for a position on their systems team. The entire interview process was very technical and you could tell their teams are very selective. I had a 45 minute phone screen, and then interviewed in person with 5 different people. They have a smart group and I enjoyed spending time learning about their environment. Kudos to the team out there. I felt pretty good about the job leaving the in person interview but I was very put off by the offer process. The recruiter asked me to provide proof of income upon leaving the in person interview and I later received an email saying they could not extend an offer in writing without it. I'd never been asked for this before and thought it was weird. I asked why this was required and they said it's because candidates will occasionally lie through the interview process so the company does this to verify before extending offers. I refused to provide anything and eventually received a verbal offer but the process left a bad impression on me. It felt odd and made me feel like maybe I was being treated different from other candidates. I ended up declining the offer after some back and forth. I hope that Indeed considers changing that weird policy.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

I was asked to calculate the theoretical network throughput of a job running across several racks of machines in a cluster.
